Abstract
1,021,487. Electric detonators for projectiles. CONTIGEA S.A. June 3, 1964 [June 18, 1963; April 23, 1964], No. 23031/64. Heading F3A. An electric detonator comprises an electrode 1 separated from the detonator casing 2 by an insulating sleeve 3. Below the electrode 1, and separated therefrom by an insulating layer 7, is a priming mixture 4 housed within the second electrode 5, which is in contact with the casing 2. Below the electrode 5 are secondary charges 6, 6<SP>1</SP>. The priming 4 may or may not be conductive and the layer 7, which may be of paper, mica or synthetic resin, is pierced by at least one hole 8 near the junction of the two electrodes and the priming. Fig. 5 (not shown), shows a primer in which a jacket 9 is interposed between the electrodes and the casing 2. In the embodiment of Fig. 3 (not shown), the layer 7 is cylindrical and the electrode 5 is arranged as a sleeve around the layer 7.
