Abstract
923,534. Electric igniters for explosives. ACHAT, VENTES, REPRESENTATIONS S.A. July 15, 1959 [July 28, 1958], No. 24241/59. Class 9 (1). An electric detonator comprises two electrodes 1, 4, a non - metallic elongated electrical conductor 6 of e.g. graphite, connected to the electrodes and interrupted in its path to define a gap at 7, the conductor being in contact with an explosive substance 10 with which it is chemically inert. The electrodes are concentric and mutually separated by an electrical insulating material 3. In the embodiment described, additional explosive substances 11 and 12 are incorporated and are maintained in place by a lid 13 engaged in an annular slot 14 of the electrode 1.
