Abstract

The plug comprises a metallic body (2a), insulating means (1a) in the body, current feeding means (3a) and a central electrode (4a) electrically connected and anchored in a bore through the insulating means by means of an electrically conductive seal (5a, 5b) such as a glassy adhesive. One or more metallic bars (N1, N2) e.g. of copper, having a high electrical and thermal conductivity are interposed between the current feeding means (3a) and the central electrode (4a) and are anchored by means of the seal (5a, 5b). The foot of the insulating means (1a) can be made longer than that of a sparking plug of the same heat rating, as the bar or bars act as heat dissipators, thereby eliminating pre-ignition. <IMAGE>
