Abstract

1295897 Shotgun cartridges REMINGTON ARMS CO Inc 5 May 1970 [26 May 1969] 21665/70 Heading F3A A shotgun cartridge comprises a plastics tubular body member 12 and a metal cap 14 which is locked thereto by engagement of the inner and outer wall surfaces of the plastics body member forwardly of a foot portion 26. Other, modified, metal caps are described (Figs. 6-8, not shown). The metal cap is fitted with a conventional percussion cap (Fig. 5, not shown) or is integrally formed with a perforated anvil 54 for use with a primer cup 48. The plastics material of the body member 12 comprises a polycarbonate, or biaxially orientated polyethylene or polypropylene. An overpowder wad (18, Fig. 1, not shown) is employed in the cartridge, but the conventional base wad can be omitted.
