Abstract
1415221 Cartridges NEDERLANDSCHE WAPEN - EN MUNITIEFABRIEK OE KRUITHOORN B V 20 March 1973 [22 March 1972] 13367/73 Heading F3 A cartridge comprises a projectile 1 secured in the mouth 2 of a cartridge case by a mass 6 of a non-plastically deformable material which extends into an annular recess 5 in the projectile. The projectile may be a practice projectile comprised by a plastics casing which splits up under the action of centrifugal force to release a filling of metal powder. The material 6 comprises a castable self-setting synthetic resin or adhesive.

Claims (1)
1. '..' ammunition, in particular disintegrable practice ammunitr.on for artillery pieces having a high rate of fire, comprisr.ng a projectile having an end portion with at least on 2 annular recess therein mounted in a neck portion of a case for said projectile; a securing means accommodated in, and at least substantially filling, the space defined between the recessed end portion of said projectile and a conical part of said neck portion of the case therefor, said securing means being formed of a material which is not substantially plasticall deformable. 2, In ammunition, in particular disintegrable practice ammunition for artillery pieces having a high rate of fire, comprising a projectile having an end portion with at least one annular recesti therein mounted in a neck portion of a case for said projectile; a securing means accommodated in, and at least substantially filling, the space defined between the recessed end portion of said projectile and a conical part of said neck portion of the case therefor, said securing means being formed of a castable self-: etting synthetic resin.
