Abstract

1,063,965. Ammunition cartridges. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. May 29, 1964 [June 1, 1963], No. 22452/64. Heading F3A. A propellent cartridge for a projectile comprises an outer case 1 with an end wall 1a and an increased diameter portion 2 into which is screwed a base 3. The base 3 has a central primer 4 protected by a readily perforable cap 5. A powder ignition charge 6, adjoining the primer 4, is accommodated partly within an inwardly extending projection 7, coaxial with the case 1, of the base 3. The case 1 contains a propellent charge 8 through which extends an axial passage 13. The wall(s) of the passage 13 may be lined with destructible material such as paper, or foil of plastics or compressed powder. The tube 12 is secured at both ends and centred by a sleeve 9 fitted over the projection 7 and a coaxial centring ring 11 fixed to the inside of the wall 1a. The chamber 13 is of circular or star-shaped cross-section.
