Abstract

129,584. Shaw, E. Feb. 10, 1919. Separate heater and evaporator apparatus.-Relates to apparatus for evaporating liquids of the kind described in Specification 13602/14 and comprising a spiral passage of gradually increasing cross-sectional area formed by a spiral flange A interposed between two tubes b, c, of which the outer is heated by a jacket a and the inner forms a vapourescape pipe. The invention consists in forming the spiral flange with a downward slope so as to cause the liquid to travel downward through the spiral passage against the outer heated tube b.
