Separate heater and evaporator apparatus -In an evaporator of the type described in Specification 29061/10 comprising a long duct consisting of three or more vertical tubes through which the liquid passes, a separator is provided at the upper end of the vertical duct. In the apparatus shown, the liquid enters at F, passes up and down the steam-heated tubes a, a<1>, a<2>, and enters the separator c, whence it may be passed for further treatment to vessels E, E<1>.
