Abstract
130,181. Reavell, J. A., and Kestner Evaporator & Engineering Go. Aug. 9, 1918. Separate heater and evaporator apparatus. - In an evaporator of the " climbing or falling film " type, extra tubes D, D<1> are provided inside the evaporator casing A for protecting the liquid before it enters the evaporating tubes B. In the arrangement shown, the liquid enters the lower header, and the upper header is divided into two compartments and the lower into three a<2>, a<4>, a<7>. The heating tubes D enter the compartments a<2>, a<4> and the evaporating tubes B enter the compartment a<7>. The heated liquid passes from the compartment a<4> to the compartment a' through a regulating valve a<8>, so that the requisite control of the flow of liquid from the heating to the evaporating tubes can be effected.
