Abstract

1295518 Carriers for containers UNILEVER Ltd 18 Feb 1970 [21 Feb 1969] 7753/70 Heading B8C A carrier for square-rimmed yoghurt pots 13, 14 has terminal cuts 9, 10 which correspond in shape to the corners of the pot rims to facilitate folding of edge panels 11 over the rims. The terminal cuts are joined by cuts which accommodate the rims and which are shaped as shown so that each pot is supported at four points adjacent its corners. One corner 6 of each pot has a tear strip and is sharper than the remaining corners so that its corresponding terminal cut 10 includes a straight portion perpendicular to the edge panel fold lines 7. The remaining terminal cuts 9 are wholly curved. The terminal cuts may extend a short distance into the central panel of the carrier to resist tearing during folding. The carrier may be made of cardboard or paperboard.
