Abstract

1340792 Packages BOWATER PACKAGING Ltd 30 Nov 1972 [16 March 1972] 12286/72 Heading B8C A device for packaging cans or other articles having radially extending flanges or rims 43 consists of a sheet of cardboard or plastics divided into a central panel 35, two outer panels 37, and intermediate panels 39 by interrupted fold lines 3, 5, 9, 7, the sheet being cut at 29 and 31 to define tongues 27 extending inwardly from panels 37 in opposed pairs to engage beneath rims 43 of each can 41. Intermediate panels 39 are, in use, under tension to force tongues 27 into position. The remaining portions defined by cuts 29 and 31 overlie the can tops and have return ends 40 to prevent tearing.
