Abstract

1294476 Spray carburetters AMAL Ltd 22 Dec 1970 [22 Dec 1969] 62333/69 Heading F1B [Also in Division F2] A fluid supply control screw 20 for a valve, particularly in a carburetter as in Fig.1, is formed from plastics material, e.g. an acetal copolymer, and has a screw-threaded portion 21 engaging in threaded hole 14, a head 23, an integral circumferential flange 25 which fluidtightly seals the screw in counter-bore 16 and which is bounded by at least one circumferential groove 26, and a tip portion 22 shaped to cooperate with the valve seat 17. More than one flange 25 may be provided, and each flange may be axially bounded by grooves 26 to provide it with increased flexibility both to enhance the sealing effect and to prevent vibrational displacement of the screw. In a second embodiment as in Fig. 2 (not shown), the counterbore is internally threaded to engage a threaded screw head, the sealing flange(s) being positioned in the smaller bore (14) internally of the thread.
