1415224 Lubricating G N GEVORSKY J D SIMKIN A M OSTINSKY J I TARASIEV and V A KUZIN 27 March 1973 14579/73 Heading F2A A screw mechanism having a rotatable nut 2 on a screw 1 has a cavity 5 in the nut for holding a supply of lubricant, passages 6, 7 being arranged in the nut to conduct lubricant from the cavity to the threads of the nut and screw, there being means in the mechanism for forcing lubricant from the cavity to the threads when the nut is rotated in one direction. As illustrated the lubricant is forced from the cavity by a piston 9 mounted on a threaded rod 10 to be actuated by the nut, the thread being such that on rotation of the nut, the screw and rod move in opposite directions. Holes may be provided in the piston to allow limited flow from one side of the piston to the other.
