Abstract

1286960 Open end spinning TMM (RESEARCH) Ltd 8 April 1970 [9 April 1969] 18244/69 Heading DID An open end spinning device is provided with a closure having a generally cylindrical portion 191 penetrating into the rotor in concentric relationship thereto, the fibre feed and yarn delivery passages passing through the penetrating portion, the fibre feed passage opening into a recess 271 formed in the cylindrical portion 191. The recess 271 can be formed as a segment cut out of a side wall of portion 191 (Fig. 4, not shown), or as a segment cut out of the end of the portion itself (as shown), or by an end flange attached thereto. Preferably the end face of the penetrating portion lies below the level of the fibre collecting surface of the rotor so that the yarn being spun follows a deflected path out of the rotor.
