Abstract

1,270,073. Open end spinning. SPINNEREIMASCHINENBAU KARL MARX-STADT, VEB. 19 May, 1970, No. 24170/70. Heading DID. An open end spinning rotor 1 has an open inner cavity 3 which is eccentrically disposed relative to the axis of rotation of the rotor and has a fibre-collecting surface comprising a yarn guide means 7 for the yarn being spun. The rotor is provided with a fibre feed mechanism 5' and a take off mechanism 6'. The guide means can be a pin 7 (as shown) or a bore leading to the fibre-collecting surface (Fig. 3, not shown). The yarn can be drawn off from the opposite end of the rotor to the fibre feed. The suction for the rotor can be provided with approximately radial bores in the rotor in the region of the fibre collecting surface.
