Abstract

1,179,302. Break-spinning. VYZKUMNY USTAV BAVLNARSKY. 27 Jan., 1967 [11 Oct., 1966], No. 4089/67. Heading D1D. In a method of break-spinning using a rotary spinning-chamber having a collecting surface for the separated fibres and a withdrawing channel, the yarn passes over a rotary surface in its path between the collecting surface and the withdrawing channel, so that it is deflected and subjected to friction. The chamber 1 is arranged to be driven inside a stationary housing by a wharve 7. The cover 9 of the housing also closes the chamber, and has an inlet 10 for fibres separated at 12, and a channel 15 through which yarn is withdrawn by rollers 16. The side wall of the chamber is inclined and acts to guide fibres delivered at 10 to a collecting-surface 14 which is formed between the wall and the inclined surface 201 of a rim 20 concentric with the base of the chamber. The rim 20 projects upwardly above the direct line between the collecting surface and the yarn outlet so that the yarn is deflected and is entrained by and subjected to friction on the surface 201. This prevents a change in the direction of movement in the point when the yarn picks up the fibres, due to impurities or accumulations of fibres. Forms are described in which the rim has a flat upper surface, Fig. 4 not shown, and in which the fibres enter the chamber at the end opposite that through which it is withdrawn.
