Abstract

1286547 Valves A LINS 12 Nov 1969 [22 Nov 1968] 55343/69 Heading F2V A housing 1 for a hot and cold water mixing valve device comprises two inlet stub pipe connections 5 for the hot and cold water respectively. These inlets communicate through an intermediate chamber 6 with a main valve chamber 7. The intermediate chamber is provided in a boss 8 which has a bore opening to the exterior for the insertion of a filter 11 and an auxiliary valve 10 which closes automatically to shut off the inlet whenever the filter is being renewed. The boss is arranged at an angle preferably of 60 degrees as shown or this angle may be increased up to 90 degrees. This arrangement enables the housing to be positioned so that any dirt will fall out as the filter is removed.
