Abstract

926,352. Valves. VANDEVELDE A.G. Nov. 30, 1961 [Nov. 30, 1960], No. 42868/61. Class 135. [Also in Group XIII] A manually-operated valve in an installation for central heating and the distribution of hot water (see Group XIII) for directing and controlling the temperature of water to radiators of the installation, comprises a casing 24 and a rotary obturator 29. The casing has two inlets 26 and 27 and one outlet 28 and the obturator has two inlets 34 and 35 and an open end 30 which communicates with outlet 28 of the casing. Inlet 26 communicates with one end of a conduit 17 which has its opposite end adjacent the inlet for cool water returning from the radiators. Inlet 27 communicates directly with hot water in the water chamber 7 of the central heating boiler. On rotation of the obturator, ports 34 and 35 effect progressively the opening or closing of inlet ports 26 and 27 respectively. A thermometer (Fig. 5, not shown), may be inserted into the valve to determine the temperature of the water flowing to outlet 28, pipe 16 and hence to the radiators.
