Abstract
686,064. Space-heating radiators. LANDIS & GYR AKT.-GES. March 21, 1951 [March 28, 1950], No. 6786/51. Class 64(ii) [Also in Group XXIX] Relates to radiators of the type described in Specification 424,024, [Group XXIX], employing a three-way regulating cock 12, arranged in a housing having an inlet pipe 8 leading to a supply pipe 10 for the radiator, and to a by-pass 9, the cock having an inlet aperture 13 in constant register with the inlet pipe 8 and two generally triangular apertures 14,15 which co-operate, as the cock is opened, with the outlet pipes 9, 10 respectively in such manner that the total flow through the outlet pipes will remain constant. According to the present invention, the apertures 14, 15, shown developed in Fig. 4, have one straight side perpendicular to the direction of motion of the cock and two curved sides of such shape that the relationship between the heat given off by the radiator and the position of the valve follows a straight-line law. The valve may be of the piston type. A valve is provided in the inlet pipe 8 for initially matching. the flow resistances of the radiator and by-pass.
