Abstract

1,210,378. Heating and cooling systems. FR. SAUTER A.G. 13 Nov., 1967 [11 Nov., 1966], No. 51591/67. Heading F4U. [Also in Division F2] An air-convector 5, forming part of an airconditioning plant provided with induction apparatus is supplied with cold water or hot water or is isolated, depending upon the external conditions desired, by two valves 9, 10 of which the first serves to control and direct the flow of hot water from an inlet 17 to a return 18, the inlet 17 and return 18 being connected to a heat converter, and the second serves to control and direct the flow of cold water from an inlet 19, to a return 20, the inlet 19 and return 20 being connected to an evaporator. In operation, and when the system is in the position shown, hot water from the inlet 17 enters chamber 2, line 6, convector 5, line 8, chamber 1 and finally return 18, the cold water system being closed upon itself with water from the inlet 19 passing directly to the outlet 20. Upon depression of an actuator 14 and due to the uneven tensioning of springs 15 and 16, valve 10 remains in the position shown but valve 9 is moved downwardly to close the hot water system upon itself, the convector thus becoming isolated (Fig. 1b, not shown). Upon further depression of actuator 14, valve 9 remains in its new position and valve 10 moves from the position shown to its second position in which cold water from inlet 19 enters chamber 1, line 8, convector 5, line 6, chamber 2 and finally outlet 20, so cooling the convector (Fig. 1c, not shown).
