Abstract
1314341 Refrigeration FISONS SCIENTIFIC APPARATUS Ltd 31 July 1970 [7 Aug 1969] 39601/69 Heading F4H The environment in a chamber 1 is controlled within variable temperature limits by a compression-expansion refrigeration system having a continuously-operating compressor 3, condenser 4, expansion valve 5 and two heat exchange coils 2, 7, within and without the chamber respectively. The system operates continuously but the flow of refrigerant may pass at least partially to one or other of the coils under the action of thermostatically controlled valves 8, 9. The valves 8, 9 may be replaced by a single proportioning type valve and the refrigerant from the coil 2 within the chamber may pass to the coil 7 prior to passage to the compressor 3. A back pressure valve 6 is provided at the refrigerant outlet from the coil 2. An additional heat exchange coil may also be mounted in the chamber in parallel with the coil 2 and have a valve to control the flow of refrigerant therethrough independently of the flow through the coil 2.
