Abstract

1,111,536. Refrigerating. STAL REFRIGERATION AKTIEBOLAG. 21 Oct., 1966 [12 Nov., 1965], No. 47277/66. Heading F4H. [Also in Division F1] A system for distributing the supply of liquid refrigerant supplied by a pump 15 in equal amounts to a plurality of conduits 4 leading to evaporators 12, 13 . . . comprises a valve 1 disposed in each conduit to control the flow therein in response to the pressure in its conduit downstream of the valve. Each valve 1 comprises a piston axially displaceable in a housing to control the flow through its conduit 4. Each piston is subjected at one end to a spring force and to the pressure in a line 7 common to all the valves and at the other end to the pressure in the conduit 4 controlled thereby and communicated thereto through a line 9. The pressure in each line 9 is dependent on the setting of a manually or thermostatically controlled valve 16 downstream of the respective evaporator 12, 13 . . . and leading to a container 14 connected to the inlet of the pump 15. When the resistance to flow in an evaporator is increased by its valve 16, the resulting increase in pressure is communicated through the associated line 9 to cause a corresponding reduction in the throttling due to the valve 1.
