[Also in Groups I and XXIX] A water mixing tap comprises a body 3 formed with a cold water entry chamber 2 and an inlet 1 thereto for coupling this chamber to a water supply pipe, a cold water exit chamber 12 and an outlet 13 therefrom for coupling this chamber to a water outlet pipe, a passage interconnecting the entry and exit chambers controlled by a valve 7, and a hot water chamber 14 having an inlet 15 for connecting to a hot water supply pipe and being interconnected with the cold water entry chamber by a second - passage controlled by a valve 6. As shown in Fig. 2, the chamber 2 is connected to a main water supply via the inlet 1 so that by opening the valve 7 water passes through the chamber 12 and outlet 13. The latter outlet may be connected to the inlet of a water heater so that the hot water is then forced from the heater through the inlet 15 and chamber 14 and discharged through a spout 17. The valve 6 controls communication between the chamber 2 and an outlet chamber 16, the latter chamber also communicating with the spout. A dividing wall 19 may be included in the spout. In the construction shown in Figs. 8 and 9, the tap is arranged to be mounted on a sink top, the cold water supply being fed through pipe 26, chamber 22, valve 33, and pipe 29 to the water heater. Hot water then passes from the heater through inlet pipe 46, chamber 44, and spout 47. Cold water also passes from the chamber 22 through the spout via a second valve 38. The spout 47 is provided with a dividing wall 48.
