1284695 Mounting printing plates POLYGRAPH LEIPZIG KOMBINAT FUR POLYGRAPHISCHE MASCHINEN UND AUSRUSTUNGEN VEB 19 April 1971 9800/71 Heading B6C An assembly in a printing machine comprises a rotatably mounted cylinder 2 having in its cylindrical surfaces a slot 3 extending parallel to the axis of the cylinder, a first member 8 slidably mounted in the slot, a second member 4 slidably mounted in the slot, attachment means for attaching one end 19 of a flexible printing plate 1 to the first member 8 and the opposite end to the second member 4, locating means 9 adjustable to locate the first member 8 in a desired position in the slot, displaceable cam means 6, a cam follower, a spring 12 urging the cam follower toward the cam 6, and means coupling the cam follower to the second member 4, the arrangement being such that the second member 4 may be displaced across part of the width of the slot to vary the tension in the printing plate by displacement of the cam. In a further embodiment the second member is moved by a key 10, Fig. 6, movable longitudinally in the cylinder slot. Fig. 9 shows a device similar to Fig. 2 (not shown), in which both members 4 and 8 are movable transversely of the slot.
