Abstract

1284311 Pitched trusses TRU JOIST CORP 10 July 1970 33512/70 Heading E1W A pitched truss has at least one ridge connector suitable for use at any ridge angle which connector is formed in two parts 30 one of which comprises at least one metal platen 32, with projecting pins 36 which engage over a large area of the end of an upper member 12a of the truss in holes 22 bored therein. When a pair of plates are used the length of each of the pins 36 is about half the thickness of the member 12a. The pair of plates are clamped together on either side of the member 12a by spring washers 46 engaging the ends of a pin 44. The ends 38 of each plate project beyond the end of the member 12a and on one of the parts 30 are inwardly spaced towards each other so that flat metal plates 32a of the other part of the connector can be bolted at the ridge in the same general plane as the plates 32 at an angle predetermined by the lengths of the upper and lower chord interconnecting lattice web members 14.
