Abstract

879,976. Scaffolding; ladders. WEINMANN, O. Feb. 17, 1958 [Feb. 16, 1957; Oct. 4, 1957], No. 5096/58. Class 20(2) A connector for joining ladders together end to end or at right angles to one another comprises a base plate 4 provided with two parallel pins 9, 10 and two spigots 5, 6 or a channel portion 12, 13 therebetween. The ladder stiles 1, 2 are provided with sockets 3 at their ends which engage over the spigots and are retained by cross-pins 8. To connect the ladders 1, 2 at right angles the transverse holes in the sockets are engaged over a pin 9 or 10. The connector, Fig. 5, is secured to a vertical ladder stile 1 at an intermediate point by a bolt 14 and nut 16 passed through a hole or sleeve 18 on the stile 1, a loose sleeve 17 also being provided, while a horizontal ladder is engaged with a pin 9 or 10.
