Abstract

1,061,851. Ladders. A. H. SAMWAYS, [trading as A. SAMWAYS & SONS]. Jan. 8, 1965, No. 854/65. Heading A6L. A ladder having pivoted rungs and folding laterally in the plane of the ladder comprises two sections each having a strut 12, 13 these two struts preventing collapse of the ladder in opposite directions. The sections are connected by a plate 7 in the end of one stile on each section engaging in the end of the channel of the stile of the other section and secured by a bolt 10 engaging a slot in the plate 7. The struts are formed of two links 12, 13 or a single link having a slot sliding on a pin. The sections may be connected by a hinge connecting a stile of one section to the stile of the other.
