Abstract

719,057. Ladders. BOOKER, J. P. Nov. 9, 1951 [Nov. 9, 1950], No. 27449/50. Class 20 (2) A portable fire escape comprises a flexible ladder 2 supported on a frame 1 resting on a window sill and having telescopic extensions 10 engaging the wall inside the window. The rungs are spaced from the wall by struts 5. The frame 1 is also secured by a strap 13 to a hook in the building. Each flexible ladder side comprises two webbing straps between which the rungs are secured by split pins and the upper ends are diverged laterally and secured separately side by side to the frame in order to steady the ladder.
