Abstract
1283591 Disc mills R B REINHALL 24 Nov 1969 [20 Dec 1968] 57355/69 Heading B2A A disc mill includes a pair of discs at least one of which comprises an inner disc holder 24 and an outer concentric disc holder. 22 arranged to be relatively axially adjustable to compensate for non-uniform wear. The rotatable disc 14 has disc elements 16, 18 and a feeding disc 20. The stationary disc comprised of the two holders 22, 24 includes disc elements 26, 28. The cooperating elements 16, 18, 20 and 26, 28 are formed as segments, in known manner. The outer holder 22 is screwed at 34 to the mill frame 10, and cooperates by threads 36 with the inner holder 24, which is rotatable for adjustment by a wheel 44 and gearing 40, 37, and is locked in position by a nut 46. Lubricant is supplied to the threads 36 via a conduit 48; and the ends of the threads are sealed by O-rings. In a second embodiment the holder 24 is secured to a fluid-pressure servo-motor piston 58 Fig. 3, and may be controlled by a valve 64. In a further embodiment the fluid-pressure system is replaced by lockable set-screws.
