Abstract

140,483. Shaw, 0., and Shaw &. Co., F. Sept. 30, 1918. Roller apparatus.-In doctors or scrapers of the type capable of either angular or linear adjuslment relatively to the rollers of the mill, the doctor is adjustably mounted in annular guides in a carrier. The doctor-support 6 is mounted in a carrier 5 which can slide on standards 3 and is adjustable by means such as screw spindles 7 operated by worm gearing 9, 10 and a hand-wheel 11. The carrier 5 has circular undercut grooves which are engaged by T-headed bolts 13, Fig. 4, on the doctor-support. The angle of the doctor can be adjusted by loosening the bolts 13 and rotating the support by hand or by means of worm gearing 15.
