Abstract

1276833 Burners EVA INDUSTRIES Ltd 6 June 1969 [9 March 1968] 11648/68 Heading F4T [Also in Division F1] An induced draught injector for a gas burner has a jet 4 introducing gas from connection 2 into a mixing passage 5a for mixing with air induced into said passage, and has a further smaller bore jet 6 arranged to coaxially enter and seat into the jet 4. The configuration shown in Fig. 1 is for high flame burning, for low flame burning the smaller jet is seated in jet 4 and thereby maintains the gas flow at least the same velocity and ensures stoichiometric combustion. The smaller bore jet 6 is radially ported at 6b for the gas flow therethrough and the jet 6 is introduced into the jet 4 by a ram 7. The ram may be operated by hydraulic or pneumatic devices or by an electric solenoid, the operation being responsive to the temperature requirements of the furnace.
