1346230 Swirling flames TOKYO GAS CO Ltd 14 May 1971 [14 May 1970] 14938/71 Heading F4B A method of heating an object M comprises injecting a mixture of fuel and oxidizing agent into a furnace through a plurality of nozzle units B 1 -B 4 in such a manner that the flows of mixture form a swirling flow which substantially encloses the object, and igniting the swirling flow of mixture to form a swirling flame. The speed of injection of the mixture from the respective nozzle units is greater than the speed of combustion of the mixture.
