1276530 Angular bending KARLE MENGELE & SOHNE MASCHINENFABRIK U EISENGIESSEREI 1 Dec 1969 [30 Nov 1968] 58577/69 Heading B3E A bending press comprises a series of dies 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 mounted so as to be lifted and lowered on two chain strands 12, the strands being passed through openings 15 in the lower zone of the top clamping bar 6 and driven by sprocket wheels 16. The chain strands on the internal side are pressed by a tensioning device 17 against guides 18 for the chain rollers 19 and carry supporting arms 20 provided with projections 21. The outer ends of the arms 20 carry laterally projecting pivot pins 23 from which dies 7 to 11 hang down and in their lowermost position their tapered part 26 is disposed opposite a longitudinal wedge-shaped groove 27. In this position a piston-rod 28 provided with a disc 29 at the bottom, engages in a corresponding groove in the dies 7 to 11. When a differential piston 31 is operated, the tapered part 26 of the die 11 disposed opposite the groove 27, is retracted, thus causing a press fit in the groove.
