Abstract

1,164,967. Baling press. KELLER & KNAPPICH G.m.b.H. 14 May, 1968, No. 22731/68. Heading B3H. An automobile baling press truck comprises two press plates 6 mounted on shafts 5 arranged parallel to the truck's axles to fold over an open ended pressing trough 4 through which the automobile to be scrapped is moved step by step. Foldable working platforms may be provided at each side of the truck. The press plates 6 are preferably actuated by hydraulic rams 10 arranged side by side below the pressing trough. The passage of the automobile through the trough is controlled by a crane 16 or by conveyer means e.g. a travelling grating in the pressing trough or on the working platforms.
