Abstract

126,877. Taylor, J. W., and Hoyle, E. Aug. 23, 1918. Carding - engines. - The cleaning or stripping roller b, whilst being constantly driven, is intermittingly or periodically taken out of operative position with the swift in order to minimize wear and tear. The roller b driven by a strap and pulley g is provided at each side with an eccentric hub d rotated in open bearings e by means of the sprocket c and a chain. In another arrangement, the hub d is provided with two eccentrics integral therewith which bear on a plate carried by the standard e<1>. The cleaning-roller may, in yet another arrangement, be carried by pivoted levers actuated by eccentrics.
