Carding-engines; lap-forming apparatus.-In an arrangement in which a number of webs are obtained from the doffer 13 and from one or more of the worker rolls 24, 25 of a single swift 10 and are delivered to a common conveyer 39, the webs are removed from the doffer and from the worker rolls by stripping or wiping rolls 36, 43, 48 associated with rolls 42, 47, 51, which compress the webs as they pass on to the conveyers 38, 44, 49 leading to the common conveyer.
