Abstract

1,267,631. Centrifugal pumps. STENBERGFLYGT A. B. March 31, 1970 [April 1, 1969], No. 15210/70. Heading F1C. A submersible pump 3, preferably of centrifugal type, can be lowered or raised along a guide 9 into or out of engagement with a stationary outlet pipe 2, and comprises a hook 4 which engages behind the flange 11 of the outlet pipe to ensure sealing engagement between this flange and the outlet flange 10 of the pump, the upper extremity 5 of the engaging surfaces of the flanges being located at or below the lower extremity 6 of the hook. This, in conjunction with a certain amount of play between shoes 7, 8 and the guide 9, allows the pump to tilt slightly or being lifted, whereby the flange 10 is freed from the flange 11. The flanges 10, 11 are chamfered as shown to guide the sealing surfaces of the flanges into alignment during the lowering of the pump.
