Abstract

1443278 Brackets C I WILLIAMS 1 March 1974 [15 March 1973] 9416/74 Heading A4B [Also in Division E1] Horizontal walers 13 used for bracing wall shuttering are supported by reversible brackets 23, each of which has two opposed support edges (the upper and lower edges as shown) for supporting walers of two different cross-sectional dimensions. Each bracket has a stop 32 or 33 at one end of each support edge, and is located against a vertical stud by tabs 24, 25, the distance between each stop and the far edge of the tab associated with the same support edge being made equal to one of said cross-sectional dimensions, e.g. 3# inches. The stops 32 and 33 are given different shapes so that they can be distinguished in the dark. The tie 16 is located by a wedge 19 engaging a groove (20) in the tie, and by a hair-pin-like spacer 21 engaging in a hole through the tie, and abutting the inner face of the walers.
