Abstract

952,576. Racks. PALMER-SHILE CO. Oct. 26, 1962 [Oct. 9, 1962], No. 40647/62. Headings A4B and A4H. [Also in Division E1] A storage rack 11 incorporates beams 13, which may be of sheet metal, having secured to their ends connecting members 19, 21, each beam having upper and lower horizontal flanges 23, 24, a vertical web portion 25 located between the flanges 23, 24, and inclined web portions 26, 27 joining the upper and lower edges of the vertical web portion 25 respectively to edges of the upper and lower flanges 23, 24. The L-shaped connecting members 19, 21 are formed with teeth 22 which adjustably engage slots 18 formed by pressed-out web portions of channel end posts 14, 15 the latter forming a part of rigid end members 12 which incorporate bracing members 16, 17. The beams may support pallets. Recommended relative beam dimensions are given. The beam 13 is compared in tabular form (Figs. 8a, 8b, not shown) with a standard V-section beam. Specification 930,984 is referred to.
