Abstract

957,315. Shelves. THOMPSON & CO. (GREAT HORTON) Ltd. March 12, 1962 [Jan. 14, 1961], No. 1648/61. Heading A4B. A rack or shelf assembly has spaced pairs of vertical rails 1 and horizontal rectangular shelves 3 locked together by transverse metal laths 4 projecting from beneath the shelves and meshing in the spaces formed between the rails and the legs of cranked metal brackets 5 detachably housed in horizontal saw-cuts 2 in the inner faces of said rails. The shelves 3 have rebated corners to engage the rails 1, and may have a frame 3A covered with plywood or hardboard. The brackets 5 are rebated at 5A to give correct location on the rails, while brackets 6 support the outer ends of outer shelves. The whole assembly may be dismantled for storage. Contiguous rails may be joined by brackets 5.
