A wooden adjustable shelving structure of the type shown in Specification 641,839, comprises a pair of side frames whose comer posts 1, 2, 3, 4 each have a vertical groove 10 and vertically spaced perforations 11, the frames being fixedly joined by members 5, 6 and 7 and by members 20 and a fixed top shelf 8a, also adjustable shelves 8 having at each corner a cut-out with a tongue 8b entering the corresponding groove 10, support pins 12 insertable in selected perforations 11 to underlie and support the shelves, and auxiliary support means insertable in the hole 11 below each pin 12. The auxiliary support means is of rigid wire and has a U-shaped portion in one plane with portions 17, 16, and 15 which embrace the posts 1, 2, 3, 4 as in Fig. 4, the arm 17 and its continuation 13 lying in a plane normal to that above, arm 13 ending in a portion 19 which engages a hole 11. A reinforcing angle may be embedded in the short side edges of the shelves 8.
