Abstract

1,196,387. Shelving. H. SCHAFER and T. SCHAFER [trading as FRITZ SCHAFER K.G.]. 18 Oct., 1968 [19 Oct., 1967], No. 49604/68. Heading A4B. A dismountable shelf unit comprises a rectangular top frame 3, a base 1, posts 5, 23 welded to the corners of the top 3 and base 1, and corner uprights 2 into the ends of which the posts 5, 23 are fitted, each upright comprising a C-section outer element 12 which is cut away at its ends to leave two walls 14, 15 to overlie the corner edges of the top 3 and base 1 and a U-section inner element 13 which is secured to and within the outer element 12 and is provided with spaced lugs 17 to support shelves 4a, 4b, 4c. Lugs 20 on the inner element 13 engage the inside of the outer element to define a space which receives side walls of the posts 5, 23. Ribs 24 on the top of the top frame 3 facilitate stacking of similar units.
