Abstract
1,262,674. Fluid actuation of switches. GROVE MFG. CO. 16 July, 1969 [19 Dec., 1968], No. 30986/71. Divided out of 1,262,673. Heading H1N. A cylinder 80 having a closed end portion with fluid inlet port 85 is mounted with a piston 81 therein engaging a base member 83 such that changes in fluid pressure move the cylinder 80 under action of a spring 91 to cause the closed end portion to act on an intermediate portion of a lever 95, pivoted at 96, whereby a slide 100, pivotally coupled to the free end of lever 95, is moved in guides 101 to operate switch means arranged in its path. As shown, the spring 91 is located between a crosshead 87 on cylinder 80 and a top plate 90 which is adjustable by nuts 92 to set the operating pressure. The lever 95 is connected to the slide 100 by a drag link 98 and hinge 99 and is adjustable in length at 114 to compensate for inaccuracy in spring rate of the spring 91. A plurality of switch units (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) are carried in staggered formation on plates 103, 104 mounted on the guides 101 to be responsive to calibrated increments of fluid pressure.
