Abstract

A single electric motor is coupled to a single hydraulic pump connected to several circuits each with a double-acting ram coupled to a point blade operating linkage. Each of the circuits includes a distributor/reverser valve (15a, b, c) between the pump (9) and its respective ram (16a, b, c). Each valve is an electrically-controlled four way type with a slide movable into three positions and returned by a spring etc., into a central position in which the chambers on opposite sides of the ram piston are isolated from the pump and connected to a return pipe (13a, b, c). Each ram also has a mechanical elastic locking device tending to hold it in one or the other of two end positions corresponding to the open and shut positions of the points.
