Abstract
1,256,309. Blasting. HEINRICH SCHLICK K.G. 24 April, 1969 [27 April, 1968], No. 20900/69. Heading B3D. [Also in Division B2] In a closed circuit blasting installation comprising a blasting cabinet 4 in which are mounted a cyclone 1 subjected to suction, e.g. as provided by an exhaust fan 5, and a hopper 3 arranged underneath an outlet 2 of the cyclone, the coarsest reusable particles of blasting material are returned under gravity to the hopper 3 and the remaining blasting material is sucked into the cyclone which returns reusable blasting particles through the outlet 2 into the hopper and discharges fine blasting dust to the atmosphere. The articles to be blasted are installed on a grid placed over the hopper 3. The operator stands on this grid and with the aid of a hose affixed to the outlet of the hopper directs blasting material in the direction of the arrow 6 against the articles. A number of cyclones may be arranged above the hopper.
