Abstract

The nuts are picked up along with stones and leaves. They are thrown by blades into the housing and reach a turbulence chamber. The air from a fan meets the air from the blades and causes turbulence, as a result of which the leaves are blown through a duct. The first and small stones pass through a sieve and then through a second sieve which sends them to two more sieves. These let the stones through while the nuts arrive at an auger by which they are conveyed to the bagging off point. Two discs turn in opposite directions, bringing the nuts to the centre line of the machine. A guard arm acts upon a disc arm in such a way that it moves on a disc away from the obstruction.
