An electrically insulating sleeve 22 has a collar 23 moulded therein, said collar having engaging means to co-operate with a contact 10 such that relative axial movement and rotation between the contact and sleeve are prevented. In Fig. 1, the collar has a resilient detent portion 26 which is deflected radially outwardly by a sloping face 17 of a stud 15 on the contact body as the sleeve is slid on to the body from the cable 12 until the stud engages a recess 24 whereupon the detent portion springs back behind the stud. A further embodiment employs the collar mouldedinto the sleeve in the reverse direction so that the sleeve is drawn over the contact before reaching the cable. Alternatively, a peg (92, Fig. 15, not shown) may be attaehedto the detent portion' and arranged to engage a niche (84) in the contact body, the recess and stud being omitted. A further embodiment, Fig. 20, employs a forwardly extending lance 119 of the collar arranged to engage a shoulder 107 of the contact whilst a stud 105 engages a recess 116 of the collar. A keyway may be provided in the sleeve to guide the stud to the recess or a projection 30 may be provided on the exterior of the sleeve and directly above the recess to provide visual alignment of the stud and recess before engaging them. The collar may be of tempered aluminium and the sleeve of neoprene or other resilient or rigid plastics material. A further embodiment employs a malleable collar similar to that shown in Fig. 1, but the detent is manually deformed to block the exit of the stud from the recess.
