Abstract

1,253,333. Moulding machines. DESMAWERKE G.m.b.H. 4 May, 1970 [29 May, 1969], No. 21306/70. Heading B5A. A mould carrier for an injection mould or a vulcanizing mould comprises side parts 10, 11 which are articulated to one another at 18 and can be locked together in the closed position, and bottom plates 12, 13 hinged one to each side part at 20, 21. As shown, the carrier houses mould parts 14, 15, 16a, 16b for injection moulding footwear, from two materials of different compositions and/or colours. Each bottom plate may be used to lock the other bottom plate in position, a stop 41 or 42 on one co-operating with a nose 29 or 30 on the other. Cylinders 19, 22, 23 are provided for operating the carrier parts 10 ... 13. A projection 27, 28 on a bottom plate 12, 13 co-operates in locking engagement with a depression 25, 26 in the side parts 10, 11 respectively. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), and Fig. 3, a bottom plate 13 is held in the position to lock the other bottom plate 12 by means of an over-centre toggle linkage 32, 33, the toggle lever 33 being unconnected to the toggle lever 36 but having a depression 35 for co-operation with the lever 36 or with a pivot bolt 36.
