Abstract
1,061,234. Injection moulds. ARBURG MASCHINENFABRIK HEHL & SOEHNE. May 11, 1964, No. 19472/64. Heading B5A. A mould for injection moulding two-colour or two-material mouldings, such as telephone dials and machine keyboards, is shown schematically in Fig. 1a and comprises two relatively displaceable parts A, C and, between these parts, a rotatably mounted part B which is displaceable to a limited extent in the opening direction of the mould. One part 38 of the moulding is made by injecting thermo-plastic material in direction I and the second part 39 by injecting in direction II. When the mould is opened the central part B is rotated through 180 degrees by means of a rack (15) and pinion (12) (Fig. 4, not shown), and a finished moulding is ejected by ejector pins (29, 30) (Fig. 1, not shown). These pins are operated through a plate (27) bearing against eccentric portions (11<SP>11</SP>, 11<SP>111</SP>) (Fig. 3, not shown) of a non- rotatable axle 11. A third eccentric portion (11<SP>1</SP>) displaces a die portion 10 so as to form the cavity for the second moulding material. Spring-biased bolts (31) (Fig. 4, not shown) ensure separation of the mould along the plane a-a before separation along the plane b-b. A pin and slot connection (32) between the mould part C and the rack (15) ensures separation along the plane b-b before rotation of the mould part B about the axle 11. A spring-urged pawl (13) prevents rotation of the part B when the mould is reclosed.
