Abstract

995,899. Injection moulding machines. BUHLER GEB. Nov. 20, 1962 [Nov. 21,1961], No. 43845/62. Heading B5A. [Also in Division B3] A pressure die-casting or injection moulding machine comprises a cross-head 6 having relatively movable parts 5, 8 which form between them a chamber 11 which is supplied with pressure fluid to produce the die-closing force, a pressure-fluid actuated linkage 18-20 for moving and supporting the movable die carrier 21, and movable wedges 12 between the cross-head parts 5, 8 for locking said parts against relative movement together. Closing of the die by the piston 16 moves the links 20 to the abutting positions shown in Fig. 2. Closure force is then exerted by pressure fluid supplied to the chamber 11, after which wedges 12 are moved inwardly by pistons 13 to lock the die halves.
